Your information

Privacy and project requests

The estimator starts with an anonymous project session. Your name, email address and phone number are required at the contact step before viewing your estimate and are saved with your project. The separate marketing checkbox starts unchecked, and your choice is saved with your request.

Your estimate session

A private session token is kept in this browser tab’s session storage so you can refresh and resume the same project. The server stores the address, measurement and project answers. The browser stores only the session key and your place in the form. Closing the tab normally ends access to that session; saved project data is not automatically deleted.

Property and estimate details

As you type a property address, your search text is sent through this site to Halifax Regional Municipality’s public civic-address service. Choosing an address checks a public building-outline service for an overhead area. The site also displays a top-down view from the Province of Nova Scotia’s licensed aerial map service where imagery is available. Location coordinates are sent to the provincial map service to retrieve that view. The image may be older than the current roof.

You can mark visible roof corners on the aerial view. Those points and the resulting overhead area are saved with your request. For some properties, the site calculates a roof pitch from publicly available Nova Scotia elevation data when the points support a clear fit. The roof surface then uses that pitch and the selected overhead area. Otherwise, you can describe the slope, and the estimate uses a planning factor. You can also enter an approximate area if the address lookup does not work. The saved request includes the address, available measurements, roof choices, project answers (such as roof condition and timing), optional notes and any request for email follow-up. None of these steps replaces a measured roof survey.

The Google Solar integration can be enabled for local testing. When enabled, the chosen property coordinates are sent to Google to retrieve roof information, a rooftop mask and matching aerial imagery. Names, email addresses, phone numbers and project notes are not sent to Google. Google-sourced details are labelled and expire from temporary server memory within one hour; a refresh or server restart can require another measurement. Public activation remains subject to clarification of the permitted roofing use.

Displayed base ranges use the client-supplied installed roofing rates before HST and an estimated roof surface. The full rate range is used until the pricing slope band is confirmed. Package upgrades are quoted separately. A site visit and written proposal confirm the scope and final price.

Prototype storage and follow-up

For local testing, requests are stored in data files on the project computer and shown in the password-protected demo inbox. Automated email is disabled in this preview. Estimate requests are saved for follow-up, and no marketing messages are sent.

Commodore’s intended lead inbox is VYRA Portal. When the website’s signed connection is enabled, choosing Request this estimate sends your contact details, property address, selected roofing option and homeowner-supplied project answers to Commodore’s portal inbox. Automated measurements, Google imagery and calculated planning totals are not included in that delivery. A request is shown as received by the team only after the portal confirms acceptance. If delivery fails, your selected option remains available so you can retry. Portal storage and email notifications are separate outcomes.

The configurable email service is Resend. When email delivery is deliberately enabled, completing your contact details sends Commodore a notification containing your contact and project information. Requesting a selected estimate sends that estimate to your email address and notifies Commodore of your selection. The service processes the recipient address and message content for delivery. A saved request and a successful email submission are shown separately; email submission does not guarantee inbox delivery.

The prototype has no automatic retention or deletion schedule. Production storage, staff access, the privacy contact, email configuration and deletion handling must be settled before public launch. There is no customer-facing lead-management account or sales dashboard.

Website analytics and preferences

Optional Google Analytics is currently off. The website supports Commodore’s saved regional analytics policy and requires your explicit permission while a trusted regional decision is unavailable. Any collection also requires current permission from Commodore’s managed analytics configuration. You can accept or decline analytics, then change or withdraw that choice through Analytics preferences in the footer. Your choice is stored in this browser. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the roofing estimator.

Analytics is limited to reviewed public information pages and fixed page names. The estimator, staff inbox and unknown pages are excluded. Names, contact details, project answers, query strings, fragments and referring page contents are not sent by this analytics connection. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.
